About Jessica . . .

Jess Gatto, NP-C is a nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in holistic healing that honors the mind, body, spirit, emotions, and the ecosystem one lives in. Passionate about the transformative potential of psychedelic medicine, Jess believes true healing demands a comprehensive, individualized approach—one that requires active participation from the patient in their own healing journey.

Starting in the ICU, Jess was drawn to learning about altered states of consciousness and later specialized in psychiatric nursing. In the inpatient psychiatric setting, she saw firsthand the limitations of conventional care in addressing basic health needs like nutrition, sleep, and sunlight, which inspired her to study shiatsu and Bikram yoga.

Desiring more autonomy over her patients’ care, Jess earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005, supported by a National Health Service Corps Scholarship. After relocating to Bend, Oregon, she fulfilled her scholarship commitment by working with underserved communities. It was here she realized the need for a more holistic approach to healthcare that considers the whole person.

The traumatic loss of her brother in 2017 led Jess to explore psychedelic medicine for emotional and spiritual healing. She found that psychedelics, such as psilocybin and ketamine, can be powerful tools but must be integrated into a broader context of health, which includes mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Jess emphasizes that true healing is a collaborative process requiring both the practitioner’s support and the patient’s effort to face and integrate personal struggles.

Jess has extensive training in psychedelic therapy, including psilocybin facilitator certification, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and psychedelic somatic psychotherapy. She also incorporates aromatic shamanism and other alternative healing practices into her work.

With a focus on safety, compassion, and respect, Jess provides a supportive space for individuals to explore their inner landscapes, confront past traumas, and find new paths to self-awareness. While psychedelics can be transformative, Jess integrates them with a holistic approach, ensuring her clients receive evidence-based integrative healthcare.
